A well regarded, successful independent trade book publishing house has asked us exclusively to find a Publisher to lead the company’s publishing strategy.
As Publisher you’ll drive the company’s acquisitions which are largely in the area of narrative adult non-fiction.
You’ll also work closely with Sales, Marketing, Press & PR colleagues to collaboratively drive the company’s commercial direction and build on its excellent reputation as a thriving non-corporate company known for publishing successful author-led and genre non-fiction.
Reporting to the CEO you’ll bring a natural creative flair for generating new book ideas, acquiring successful commercial non-fiction books as well as commercial nous to position the authors and company brand. Although not the prime focus of the role, you will have the opportunity to acquire and bring new authors to the list.
We’re looking for a highly collaborative Publisher who will work across an independent company providing support to a talented, loyal and enthusiastic team.
We’re interested in talking with people from various adult trade publishing backgrounds, you could be a senior editor looking for a step up, a publisher seeking a unique change of environment, or perhaps you’re from a books marketing, publicity or sales background interested in a change of direction to oversee the publishing strategy.
The company is located in London and you will be based from the offices for a good part of the time in the future.
